Madam, - I was delighted to see that the article by Patricia Weston in Wednesday's Motors supplement on the upcoming Bike Show at the RDS emphasised safety for bikers.
The photograph used to illustrate the article is of Kenneth Nielsen, my son. I well remember his delight in telling me that he had been selected for this shot as the stereotypical biker at the 2003 Motorbike Show. In May of that same year he was left dying beside his Harley Davidson at the side of the road by a drunk car driver, who fled the scene.
I am glad you used Ken's photograph, as it gives me another opportunity to ask people not to drive under the influence of alcohol. If readers still have the Motors supplement, I invite them to look at Ken's photograph on page 4, the one with the crash helmets. Drink driving killed him and I miss him so much. - Yours, etc,
