A chara, – John Glynn (November 26th) will have some extra spare time in future as he has decided that he cannot watch TG4’s coverage of the Heineken Cup. His reaction seems a little petulant – in any case, might I suggest that he use his extra leisure time to pursue a refresher course in Irish? – Yours, etc,

Sir, – I too share the frustration of your recent correspondents in regard to the Irish-only commentary on TG4. I am, however, lucky in that when watching matches involving the teams from my homeland on S4C, in that even though the commentary is in Welsh, of which my knowledge is basic after living in Ireland for 47 years, there is a “red button” alternative commentary in English.

Is this beyond the expertise of TG4 to provide or is it a deliberate policy decision? – Yours, etc,
