Sir, - While I'm glad that the Met professionals will be gracing our screens again, I wish people would stop castigating the new presenters and being disparaging about their (lack of) knowledge and ability, as if it's their fault that RTE made a bit of a booboo.
Frank Byrne (November 2nd) writes "The babes who don't know their isobars from their elbows should prove quite suitable for the more trendy environs of Network 2 ..." Come on now, fair's fair. One of Mr Byrne's "babes" is of the male variety and, judging by his radio interview with Marian Finucane recently, he is a highly qualified and experienced person in his own right and isn't anything like the male version of a bimbo (whatever that is). - Yours, etc.,
