Sir, - In his wide-ranging survey of broadcasters' on-line news sites (The Irish Times, November 3rd) Michael Foley omits to mention that RTE has been operating a comprehensive service for the past 18 months. While, unlike most of the examples quoted by Mr Foley, we do not transmit a rolling news channel on air, we do offer a substantial text and audio service on the Internet which give a constant stream of up-to-date information over 24 hours. Included on the site (www.rte.ie) are the pages of Aertel, 2FM live and audio files from Radio 1 and Raidio na Gaeltachta. Radio 1 live will be added to the output in the near future. Yours, etc.,
