Sir, – If our judiciary are to get new French robes (Home News, October 22nd), surely then we should be permitted to see them?
By logging on to the British supreme court site, one can watch the court in session, but our obsession with privacy persists. A television programme last year about the British supreme court interviewed four of the judges to explain how the court operates and how they assess a case. They were also shown using public transport to get to court, or cycling, in the case of their chief justice.
Can we expect some similar humility in this country, which is, after all, broke? – Yours, etc,
