Sir, _ As a tourist to Ireland last week we discovered that Dublin has an acute absence of road signs for the purpose of direction finding. Is this a deliberate ploy by the authorities to take us on a mystery tour - or a new European ruling from Brussels?
Although we enjoyed our stay, which included a circuitous route to Dun Laoghaire via Stephen's Green, valuable hours were wasted.
I cannot deny that stopping to ask directions is part of the fun and romance when on holiday, but the Dublin experience left me "Confused of High Wycombe"! Yours, etc.,
