The RUC lost 302 members (Reserve plus Regular), but killed 53 people. Republicans lost 355 but killed 2,001 people.
The RUC killed 16 Republican paramilitaries. Republicans killed 508 security forces from Northern Ireland.
Republicans killed 713 civilians. The RUC killed 31 civilians.
