Sir, – I share Eric O’Brien’s disappointment (August 4th) at observing the frequently disrespectful manner in which the national flag is flown.
Despite the millions spent on the new Aviva Stadium at Lansdowne Road, there are no flagstaffs to display the national flag and that of the visiting team. The flags are draped in an unedifying manner at the roof level of the east stand. Perhaps Aviva might consider providing flagstaffs as part of their sponsorship of the stadium. – Yours, etc,
