Madam - I notice in your paper of July 7th that the Burmese government is objecting to international pressure being brought to bear on it for its "treatment" of the opposition. The record of the Burmese government in the last 20 years is appalling. Its crimes go unpunished. There has been documented evidence of the rape and killing of women by the Burmese army and nothing has been done about this.

I hope our Government and the international agencies will keep up the pressure on Burma's leaders until they bring some sort of freedom to their country. - Yours, etc.,
