Reckless pedestrians

Madam, - Now that the Government has extended the penalty points range for offending motorists, it might well do something too about pedestrians crossing streets and road junctions while their light is clearly showing red.

This brazen disregard for the law not only endangers the lives of the defaulters themselves - and they are sometimes accompanied by young children - but constitutes a serious hazard for motorists, who in an effort to avoid a collision may have to put their own lives at risk. - Yours, etc, -
