Sir, – To conclude a simple insurance claim I have been trying, on behalf of my English-based brother and sister, to pay a cheque into my Irish bank account.
This has involved innumerable telephone calls, e-mails, faxes, letters and the employment of a solicitor – all to no avail.
It appears to be easier to spirit €50 billion out of the Irish banking system than put €8,000 into it. – Yours, etc,
