Sir, - I'm afraid that I'm even more amazed, having read the confused content of Mary Warnock's letter of January 9th in response to mine of January 6th under the heading "Ballymahon Church."

I hope I don't sound too arrogant when I say that it is an irrefutable truth that Presbyterians are Protestant. This also applies to Methodists and other Protestant sects, known as "Non Conformists". One does not have to subscribe to the Anglican rite to be a Protestant. The word "Dissenter" was a word used in ancient times to describe non conforming Protestants who did not choose to follow that rite.

I may say that I have many Presbyterian friends and family members who accurately and categorically know themselves to be Protestant, and I still maintains that - in common with Ms Warnock - De Valera had no understanding of these simple facts. - Yours, etc.,
