Sir, - In her letter (January 6th) Rosemary Latimer refers to the "amazing" mistake of distinguishing between Protestant and Presbyterian. In fact, the error, although not especially amazing, is Ms Latimer's.
Although "Protestantism" is a catch all phrase for all reformed churches, Presbyterianism is distinct from it in so far as it, like other dissenting churches, does not conform to the Anglican Rite and thus is more accurately described as dissenting or non conformist.
As for Dev - however you may feel about him - in this particular instance he got it right! - Yours, etc.,
