Sir, – I am curating an exhibition on the life and work of Owen Walsh (1933-2002), who was born in Westport, Co Mayo, and who lived for much of his life in Dublin, working and sometimes exhibiting from his Baggot Street studio. He was awarded the Macauley Prize by the College of Art in Dublin, and in his early career pursued his studies in Venice, Ravenna, Barcelona and Toledo. He was a founder member of the Independent Artists and exhibited regularly in group and one-man shows in Ireland and also Paris and New York.
I would be very grateful for any information on the artist, particularly from private collectors who would be willing to lend work for the retrospective planned for June 2012. – Yours, etc,
