Sir, - Your report of May 18th is misleading in that it suggests that any one member of the party would hold the power of expulsion over any member, which is not the case.

It is the parliamentary party which can act to remove the whip from a parliamentary party member, and it is the National Executive that would act to expel a member from the Fianna Fail party. - Is mise,

Dr Rory O'Hanlon, TD, Chairman, Fianna Fail Parliamentary Party, Leinster House, Dublin 2.
