Sir, – Taking our holiday this year in Wexford, as we do most years, we took a day trip to Kilmore Quay.
Our two children were delighted to find a brand new shiny playground beside the old quay, which kept them occupied for a good hour.
The only downer was that the colourful rubberised playing surface was already filthy and covered with every type of litter.
Why can’t people put their litter in a bin?

In this case, the answer is that no litter bins had been provided either beside, or anywhere near, the playground.
When councils are constructing these playgrounds, could they please also provide some bins? – Yours, etc,
