Sir, - I wish to support fully the recent letters regarding the use of mobile phones while driving. I also wish to plead for an end to the insanity of so many female drivers (and possibly some male ones) who put their make up on while driving. This is clearly a very dangerous and distracting activity, but is unfortunately a common sight.
A dashboard is not a dressing table and a rear view mirror is not for make up application. I appeal to all driving make up applicants to get up earlier and apply theirs at home. If they must do something when bored in traffic, might I suggest that they pick their nose, which requires no implements and very little concentration, making it altogether safer. - Yours, etc.,
