Sir, - Do my eyes deceive me? A recent news report on the proposed casino in the Phoenix Park leads with a quote which includes the sentence: "There will be women laid out like peanuts in a bar." How anyone can dare to use such an image to "sell" their proposal for a centre of family(?) entertainment is surely beyond belief.
The many objections lodged by locals to the proposed development are indicative of the general concern responsible people feel about this latest effort to bring dubious business ventures to this country.
However, the dangers to women manifest in the attitude expressed in the quote should be taken seriously by the Fingal County Council and by anyone with respect for women, men and children as a priority in their lives.
