Sir, - Sinn Fein's Mr Larry O'Toole is quite wrong to say that inviting the Orange Order to walk in Dublin is like inviting the Ku-Klux-Klan to march in Alabama, in that they would be rather familiar with that particular town. It would be more like having them parade in Harlem, New York, or Los Angeles South Central, where Klan folk would be fairly thin on the ground.
The real difficulty with the Dublin march is that it takes the wrong route. I suggest that it should be re-routed away from Dawson Street and that a more appropriate walk would be one from Protestant Row, off Wexford Street, to Fenian Street, not far from Government Buildings (as the brethren might expect). Surely this route would offer the ultimate in satisfaction for connoisseurs of Orange feet on Fenian streets? - Yours, etc.,
John Moran, Aungier Street, Dublin 2.
