Madam, - I listened recently to discussions about this year's launch of "Operation Freeflow" in Dublin. Let's all take public transport when possible.
However, on Tuesday I needed to attend a training seminar in a hotel in the city centre close to the Luas, so I thought I'd go in on the Luas.
At 8am I spent 20 minutes queuing to get into Sandyford industrial estate, and another 20 minutes searching each of the three car parks for a space, to no avail.
I drove to town arriving 10 minutes late.
No car park at the Luas, Dart, or QBC should ever be full if you want commuters to use public transport.
I'm quite sure that the cost of additional space or even a multi-storey car park is considerably less than 1km of Luas line.
- Yours, etc,
PETER MOLONEY, Hainault Grove, Foxrock, Dublin 18.
