Sir, - I understand that the major English based stores which operate here, do not open on Easter Sunday (probably not on any Sunday) in England. Can any of them explain to this poor Mick, why exactly they see fit to do so here?
To say that there is a significant demand is nonsense. If they had remained closed on Easter Sunday, in particular, would there be any protest? Far from it - the only protest would be from the silent cash registers.
Louis Copeland is right. Why do we accept, in such a craven way, what is virtually an insult to us and to our culture? If we had any self respect left, we would just not shop on Sundays especially not on an Easter Sunday. I don't often agree with Mr Paisley, but in this regard his views are right on! - Yours, etc.,
