Madam, – I would like to add my voice to some others who have complained about an excessively negative attitude in the face of our adversity. Last week I watched as the article “Ireland is a disaster . . . leave now and enjoy your life” (November 2nd) remained the most read article online for at least three days in a row. Similarly “No country for young men” (Weekend Review November 7th) made it straight into the top spot.
I saw on November 11th a more positive article “Economic outlook more optimistic” and assumed that this more upbeat message would find a welcome audience. Sadly it has not been one of the most read articles of the day. What article did make it to number one? “Ireland has the ‘potential’ to be hit by a tsunami”. – Yours, etc,
