Madam, – I noticed that your front page carried a headline about nine-year-olds having TVs and mobile phones in the bedrooms. Page 6 carried a large piece about childhood obesity.
Clearly they are connected.
However, the inside piece linked the obesity to poverty. If all poor families now have bedroom TVs and mobile phones in children’s bedrooms, there is clearly some new definition of poverty around that I am unfamiliar with.
Could our rapidly worsening health crisis perhaps be something to do with people not eating properly to pay for TVs and mobiles for 9-year olds? – Yours, etc,
