ANDREW CALDERBANK,
Sir, - It was with much disgust that I observed a member of the Garda discard a cigarette butt out of his car window last Tuesday, September at 1.45 p m. as he waited at the traffic lights of the crossroads of Kilgobbin Road indicating to turn on to Hillcrest Road near Sandyford.
This was a clear breach of the litter act and a bad example to other members of society.
I have not taken up police time in reporting this incident because I believe the Garda already struggle to cover serious crime without matters such as this using up scarce resources.
