A chara, - I note the call by John Mansworth, president of the Vintners Federation of Ireland (Irish Times, May 4th) that publicans should "not be held to ransom" and should resist extra pay demands from staff this New Year's Eve as it "was simply a normal working night".
That being the case, I'm sure he would similarly criticise any publican or nightclub owner who chose to introduce or increase admission charges to their premises on December 31st. - Is mise,
