MOTORCYCLE SAFETY

Sir, Brian Murphy (June 5th) appeals to motorists for greater care towards motorcyclists

Sir, Brian Murphy (June 5th) appeals to motorists for greater care towards motorcyclists. Obviously everyone regrets the tragic deaths of young people in road accidents, but I think the appeal should be directed to motorcyclists themselves to observe road rules and thus prevent many accidents.weaving in and out of traffic, cutting across cars, ignoring junction boxes and roaring past drivers turning left, on the inside, narrowly missing the car.

It would be difficult to find a motorist in Dublin who has not been very shaken on more than one occasion by the closeness of an accident in these circumstances. Yours, etc.,
