Sir, - I read the very amusing letter from Vincent Flannery (June 29th) about the problems with various milk containers. I believe I have the answer.
Picture a cylindrical vessel, slightly narrower at the top than at the bottom. This creates extra stability and also makes for easier pouring. The vessel is sealed with a simple foil seal, which can easily be opened by pressing down on it.
In addition, the vessel should be made from glass, so that it may be re-used, and so is environmentally friendly.
