Sir, – How many people over the age of 70 do you think experience a significant increase in income, or choose to emigrate? The HSE seems to be wasting time and resources carrying out random but increasingly frequent reviews of entitlement to medical cards in this age group. This is a pointless and cynical exercise that causes stress to a vulnerable group of people who often cannot complete the forms that are sent to them. – Yours, etc,
