A chara, - Mark Steyn's abominable column in your edition of August 1st was completely unacceptable. This vulgar kind of Muslim-bashing is something that I would expect from the gung-ho Fox empire publications, but not from the usually intelligent and rational Irish Times. Steyn's fanatical and hysterical article was devoid of intelligent, in-depth analysis of such complex subject as the politics of Islam and the Iraq War.
Unfortunately Ireland has no independent press complaint commission. Perhaps this is how such absurd and sickening articles can appear. - Yours tc,
