Sir, - Inishowen (Land of the O'Dohertys) is apparently ceded to the United Kingdom, and the Oireachtas public relations office calls it an unfortunate oversight. Perhaps, however, it could become the first move in a new initiative of creative diplomacy.
Reciprocal transfers of sovereignty would have many attractions for West Britons, Angloirish, British Irish, hyphenated Americans and other deracinated denizens; but this will only work with the full hearted consent of "the people. Shouldn't the Dohertys have been asked first? - Yours, etc,
