A chara, – I was intrigued to read Allan Smith’s article on his uncle, Brian Desmond Hurst (“Ireland’s Tarantino”, Life & Culture, September 26th).
It might interest readers to know that Hurst also wrote the screenplay for the 1962 film version of Synge's Playboy of the Western World, the score for which was written by Seán Ó Riada and performed by Ceoltóirí Chualann.
