Sir,- The All-Ireland semi-final football match between Kerry and Armagh was indeed one to be remembered. A striking and most memorable deed took place in Saint Mary's Pro-Cathedral, Dublin on August 20th (the day of the drawn first encounter).
The 11.15 Mass was attended by many Armagh and Kerry supporters, together in communal prayer. During the offertory procession, volunteers from Armagh processed the aisle with their offerings for peace. What a tribute. I salute them, along with my friends from the Kingdom.
Secondly, on my way to Lios Tuathail around the weekend of the replay, I could not but notice the green-and-gold flags in abundance - but also a very special tribute on at least one household on the main road between Tarbeart and Lios Tuathail: both Armagh and Kerry colours were flying side by side.
Congratulations to both teams for a wonderful game. Comhgardeachais do Chuntae Chiarrai, ach gan dabht, beidh la eile ag foireann Ard Mhacha. - Yours, etc.,
Eileen Healymulvihill, Glin, Co Limerick.
