A chara, – I note that Jack O’Connor of Siptu (Home News, November 26th) has criticised booing and jeering of some speakers after the well-attended anti-austerity march in Dublin on Saturday. He even labelled such booing and jeering as “fascism”.
It would appear that the umbilical cord still attached from the Labour Party to Siptu has clouded Mr O’Connor’s view. Even he should realise that fascism would be preventing people booing or jeering. – Is mise,
Sir, – Comhghairdeas to all those who took part in the anti- austerity parade in Dublin. All, that is, bar those dipsticks who think that by booing at decent people they will win the day. If they want to boo at someone, I suggest they boo at our well- paid bankers as they go to work. – Yours, etc,
