Sir, - Ariel Sharon has declared that the internationally recognised Palestinian Authority is "a terrorist entity".
In 1982 General Sharon was convicted in his own country of "indirect responsibility" for the massacre of Palestinians in Sabra and Shatila, and is at present under investigation in Belgium for this same crime. He heads the government of a state that has illegally occupied Palestinian and Syrian territories for the past 34 years, and that only recently withdrew from illegally occupied Southern Lebanon; a state that has legalised torture; a state that illegally assassinates targeted individuals; a state that is in breach of more UN resolutions than any other state on earth, but that is backed to the hilt by the United States.
Clearly the lexicon from which Mr Sharon takes his definition of "terrorism" is written in blood and dollars. - Yours etc.
