Sir, - I noticed a number of key words in the contribution made by the Media Relations Adviser to the Courts Service (October 24th): staff survey, the designing of training options, reports and plans. Of course, all that is actually needed is the effective marshalling of existing staff into an Irish unit or division. When one strips away the verbiage, the only action actually taken by the service in relation to the provision of services in Irish seems to have been the publication of a glossy strategic plan. I must get a copy to add to the various similar reports produced down the years as a substitute for effective action. - Yours, etc.,
