Sir, - I am currently reading Insight and Action: the life and work of Lion Feuchtwanger by Lothar Kahn (Fairleigh Dickinson University Press, 1975). I am intrigued by a reference to Hitler having an Irish cousin.

In October 1940, Feuchtwanger escaped from a detention camp in France and fled to the United States. There he was welcomed with several reception parties) one was given by "Jules Romains former president of the PEN Club, who also entertained... a cousin of Hitler's from Ireland, a handsome, burly man, who opposed his powerful relative in Berlin" (page 247).

Can any of your readers give me further information on this Irish connection of Hitler? - Yours, etc.,
