Sir, - May I commend Dermot Bolger on his dignified and humble response to Ulick O'Connor's letter relating to the original authorship of the "Valparaiso" poem?
Too often we witness the informed among us taking petty pot-shots at their colleagues and spats being fought out in the letters pages.
It is truly refreshing to read a mature, respectful and considered response rather than someone picking up the gauntlet and engaging in battle. Well done, Mr Bolger - and thank you, Mr O'Connor, for your enlightening letter. - Yours, etc.,
