Madam, - The point that is missed by people's reflections about God in the wake of the tsunami disaster is that it does not matter if there is a God or not.

This is because belief in God does not affect how we treat each other.

George Bush and Tony Blair are fervent believers, yet they willingly killed scores of thousands of people in Iraq, and are prepared to kill many more through the use of nuclear weapons.

Most of humanity believes in God, spends untold hours in prayer, worships and worries, while at the same time desecrating God's handiwork.

If there were a paradigm shift from a belief that God is outside Nature to a belief that God is a part of Nature, then we might treat each other and the Earth with more love and respect. - Yours, etc.,
