Sir, – Authoritative voices have commented in the fact that Garda Adrian Donohoe was given no warning by his killers before being shot (Conor Lally, Front page, January 28th). This is utterly irrelevant. Garda Donohoe was acting on our behalf and his murderers had no more right to give a Garda a warning than to shoot him.
