Madam, - Mr Michael Smith thinks a new government jet a necessity for a first-world country. All I can say is we should be so grateful to our wonderful politicians for making us a first-world country. Imagine, if we were not, we would have a second-rate health service, pot-holed roads, traffic gridlock, escalating crime rates and unaffordable housing.
