Sir, - On the subject of English as it is spoke, the position is now clear. Either RT╔'s inability to pronounce "th" is part of our national heritage and to be cherished, or it is yet another of the endless atrocities inflicted upon us by Perfidious Albion and to be deplored.
Whichever the case, and as the inestimable Mr Joe Duffy might say, there is no pint in fighting a jool about it. Let us rather cool down with a heaping helping of Haitch Bee ice cream. May it all soon be waw-her under the bridge and no longer the cause of leh-hers to the Editor. - Yours, without putting a toot in it,
Hugh Leonard, Pilot View, Dalkey, Co Dublin.
