Sir, - Recently, while driving at night, I've encountered the following: Cars with blue front lights; cars with green front lights; cars with purple front lights; cars with orange front - lights; and even one car with redfront lights.
I'm convinced I've read somewhere that regulations state that front lights must be white and rear lights red on cars, trucks and bikes. Am I right wrong? These multicoloured displays are deadly dangerous, particularly in wet and misty conditions.
On a similar top , I'm fairly I certain than number plates after 1990 or so by EU regulation must be white reflective with IRL in blue on the side. Increasingly you see older style number plates with letters o a black background, which apparently are more difficult to read on speed cameras.
If the Gard doesn't enforce these basics it produces a very of casual attitude to such safety in matters among' drivers. Remember the most common remark after accidents is: "Sorry, I didn't see you'. That's if they're still talking or listening! - Yours, etc.,
