Madam, – I noted a letter (Dr Rory Sherlock, July 30th) which asserted that “Even the university library at NUI Galway persists in closing for a half day in deference to a horse-racing event”. This is incorrect. The University Library at NUI Galway was open each day until at least 5.30pm during Race Week. – Yours, etc,
