Sir, – I read with interest the report on the research from Trinity College Dublin on dangers of cycling in Dublin. One additional consideration when researching perceptions of cyclists of the dangers of cycling is dogs.
A recent beautiful rural cycle in Kildare came to a crashing halt when a couple of dogs came barking from nowhere and toppled me and my poor husband from our bikes. I now approach rural cycling with trepidation – I see an opportunity for tourism, if some routes could be guaranteed to be dog free! – Yours, etc,
