Disappearing wind turbines

Sir, – Having just come back from a tour of west Cork, the pure white wind turbines have stuck in my mind.

Those with the land behind them should be painted army camouflage. Those with the sky behind them, should be painted battleship grey. Then you will see neither.

I am sure Haulboline would be only too delighted to give you the mix. It is a grey with a hint of blue. Army camouflage is obvious.

As for safety concerns: just as you can clearly see the Navy ships berthed on the quays, and can clearly see a solider walking down the street, from close up of course you can see them both. But, from a distance, you will see neither.
