Madam, - The Department of the Environment is to leave Dublin for Wexford under the Government's plan to decentralise the public service. The Fianna Fáil TD Eoin Ryan is already suggesting alternative uses for the Custom House, and proposes a museum of the Irish diaspora (The Irish Times, December 20th).
Perhaps a small plaque could commemorate the thousands of civil servants who are to be uprooted and driven from their homes for the benefit of Mr Ryan's party. - Yours, etc.,
