Madam, - Minister for Education Mary Hanafin says her policy on ABA reflects the fact there is no consensus on the best method of educating autistic chlidren. This is an extrordinary position for a former teacher. She knows there can be no consensus when nobody properly understands autism.

The expressed wish for consensus is a delaying tactic. Children are being lost to society as the State prevaricates.

Mrs Hanafin should disengage from this debate and simply give these children, these young citizens, what they need. It is their moral right. - Yours etc,
