Madam, – While the right of the citizens to form associations and unions is enshrined in our Constitution (Article 40:6), it also makes provision for the enactment of laws, in the public interest, to regulate and control this right.

In view of the current threat to the general public posed by the withdrawal of essential services (Home News, March 1st), are the unions not in breach of the Constitution, and should the Government not be taking steps to urgently address this? – Yours, etc,
