Sir, - One of the greatest challenges for the Catholic Church at this time is to teach and witness, with conviction, to the value and practice of chastity for our young people. A group of young people from Canada in recent years have given an excellent presentation on this subject in many of our schools.
I am outraged that a Catholic organisation such as Cura, founded and funded by the Irish Catholic Bishops, should at its recent conference in Tralee be encouraging teenagers in the use of contraceptives.
The job of the Catholic Church is to teach the Word of God - and this especially in regard to chastity. If a Catholic organisation such as Cura wants to address this subject, then let's have a speaker on chastity. - Yours, etc., Fr Michael Fitzgerald,
