Sir, - Once again NATO has admitted an error; and a bus, believed to have been carrying civilians - including 15 children - has been cut in two by a bomb. The result has been another huge loss of life with a number of the passengers having been burned beyond recognition. I have listened in vain to various broadcasts from the British stations - and, yes, from RTE - for some sign of compassion for these innocent victims of a cruel war.
Does the wave of pity which engulfs us at the plight of the unfortunate people of Kosovo stop at a border?
This awful incident, and NATO's ungracious apology, were given such scant coverage that one can only wonder whether there is a fear that, if TV audiences were allowed to see the carnage wrought by this brutal bombing campaign, politicians would be unable to withstand the pressure to find an alternative method of resolving this dreadful crisis. - Yours, etc., Anne Morahan,
